Doug Stewart is a 25-year resident of Malibu presently serving as the Mayor of Malibu and was elected to the Malibu City Council in November 2022. Before the City Council, he was a member of the Malibu Public Safety Commission for nearly four years.
His business experience started in banking culminating as Vice Chairman of one of California's largest banks. He moved from banking to become the Chief Administration Officer and then Chief Operating Officer of one of the largest commercial printing companies in America. After the sale of the printing company, he started an Investment Management business which he still leads along with his son as his partner.
We'll also have a live performance from Shane Alexander!Known for his intimate tenor, signature guitar style and moody melodies, Los Angeles-based solo artist and storyteller Shane Alexander has shaped a distinctive career with his evocative indie folk and soaring California-tinged acoustic rock.
Having extensively toured the US, Europe and Canada since 2005 (both as a headliner and supporting acts like Bon Iver, Lucinda Williams, Seal, Jewel, John Hiatt, Suzanne Vega, Styx and Yes), Alexander has developed a loyal international fanbase and performed on many fabled stages, including Red Rocks, The Ryman Auditorium and The Greek Theatre in LA. His music has appeared in dozens of television shows, commercials and films, quietly earning more than 30 millions streams. The song "Everything as One" from Alexander's 2019 album A Life Like Ours was recently featured in a national commercial for Chevrolet's 'Drive Safe' campaign.
In addition to working on his own releases, Shane can usually be found co-writing songs (both remotely and in-person) and producing acts from both sides of the pond at Buddhaland, his studio in Westlake Village, CA.
