Volunteer Long Term Recovery Group
This workshop series is being offered by the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) in response to a Regional LTR Update meeting survey for the full RTW Long Term Recovery Orientation and the need for coordinated, community-led recovery in Los Angeles.NVOAD proposes a full delivery of the Recovery Tools Workshop (RTW) series. These workshops are designed to equip local VOAD partners, Long-Term Recovery Groups (LTRGs), and community stakeholders with essential knowledge and tools to navigate disaster recovery effectively and compassionately.Following the 2023 Maui wildfires, Hawaii VOAD successfully implemented the full RTW series virtually. Due to the state’s geographic and logistical challenges, online delivery made it possible to engage more local leaders from across multiple islands. Feedback from Hawaii participants was overwhelmingly positive—highlighting the clarity, usefulness, and cultural flexibility of the workshops.NVOAD is thrilled to offer the same series to the Los Angeles community and invite you to participate in a workshop designed to strengthen your community’s ability to respond and recover after disaster: The Recovery Tools Workshops (RTWs).What Are RTWs?Recovery Tools Workshops are a series of nine skill-based trainings developed by National VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) members.
